The love dance - in the Nuba language called »Njertun«
Just a bit later after the end of the bouts, one Nuba is beating
the drum for the »Njertun«, which is always following the bloody
bouts. Different from most of the primitive peoples in South-East
Nuba the girls are choosing their men. During this ceremony the
girls are accompanied by their mothers spurring on and encouraging
their daughters with trilling singings in order to conquest their
husbands with ever wilder and more passionate dances. The beating
of the drums, the stamping and the wild yells last until the night
comes. It is a spectacle of the elemental forces.
